Hi dear friends my mom is scheduled for her weekly chemo tommorow but she is very very tired and gets breathless with even her own daily routine works like bathing and going to bathroom should we go ahead with her appointment I told her onco doc about it he said let's go ahead what to do with this severe fatigue
Severe fatigue: Hi dear friends my mom is... - My Ovacome
Severe fatigue
Hi Indujoshi - I hope your Mom is feeling better. I too had trouble breathing while undergoing chemo. As I had a pulmonary embolism earlier in the year, I thought it was due to that - but it turned out that I was severely anemic and needed a blood transfusion. Once my red blood cell count came up I felt worlds better. I do know that Ovarian Cancer can cause blood clots so I would also ask if a CT Scan or Doppler is in order. If she is having difficulty just getting up to go to the bathroom, she should be checked out before her next round.
Work with her oncologist (or the nurse) and be sure they hear your concerns. They'll do what is best, I'm sure.
Sending you and your Mom strength and love.
Thanks Almalyffe I too think her blood counts are low as she appears very pale I will surely check up with her treating physician .your concern is greatly appreciated
Hi. I agree with Almalyffe, and with what you say about your mum being pale that she could be aneamic. Hopefully they will check her bloods before treatment and get her bloods right before treatment continues xx Big hugs to you both. Kathy xx
I had terrible breathlessness on my frontline chemo. Scans and tests didn't show P anything and it got better on its own after a few weeks of torture. It has returned a few times but not as severely.
