How horrible for you. Do you have a number for your hospital’s chemotherapy helpline? You should have been given a card with it on before your treatment. They will advise. Best wishes.

Definitely contact your chemo dept on the number they will have given you . We had a special card with the emergency number. It may be bleeding piles due to yesterday’s situation but best be sure .

I don’t wish to be alarmist but I would go to a and e. I have a history of bowel problems and would definitely go. I ruptured a diverticular pocket and it became inflamed but I had to have antibiotics to clear it. Mine was after a bout of food poisoning And severe diarrhoea. I think it’s worth getting it checked.

Diarrhea by itself can get you dehydrated really fast. Add in obvious bleeding, and I think you definitely need to seek immediate advice/care. Hope you feel better soon! Deb in Colorado

Hello dryden1

I'm sorry to hear that you've been experiencing these symptoms. As other members have already commented, it's important to seek medical advice if you haven't already. We'd recommend calling your chemotherapy helpline as soon as possible and, if for any reason you aren't able to speak to them, getting in touch with your GP or NHS 111.

I hope that you get some advice soon to help you find out what's causing the bleeding.

Best wishes

Julia (Ovacome Support Services Officer)
