CA 125 on the rise .......

6 months after first line treatment, I'm not feeling good. Have been to A and E with abdo pains and it looks like stoma was constipated? Given laxative and suppositories in A and E. feeling really tired again and CA 125 has risen in the last 3 weeks from 11 to 29. I have an oncology appointment on Tuesday but feeling very down. I suppose I have to face that I maybe having a recurrence, just naively thought remission would be longer than this and maybe I would be the one where it didn't come back. I know there are many people in a much worse place than me but so so sad again at the moment. Hugs to everyone x x x

Sending a big hug. Your CA level is still okay and could be up because of inflammation in your pelvic area from constipation. It doesn’t flag up unless it keeps rising with no dips so try to keep positive. At the moment it really sounds ok.

Enjoy today and worry about tomorrow when it gets here

Thank you so much, I just hope this is the reason. I’ve spent last 2 days in bed though feeling really rubbish nauseous and faint as well. Fingers crossed. Hope you are ok and that your pain is under control now. How’s it going with the Avastin?

If you can get up it will make you feel better. Otherwise you risk getting depressed. I know I get frustrated being in bed.

Avastin dose two was postponed because I was rushed off to hospital with sepsis. Am expecting to have bloods Tuesday with infusion either Friday or Saturday. Not sure what will happen about dose three as I haven’t been able to spend any time raising funds. Just too poorly.

When is your next CA test? I would ask for one if your oncologist doesn’t suggest it. Although even if you did recur the evidence says starting treatment sooner rather than later makes no difference to outcome. So why not plan something nice

I’ve been up this afternoon. Hubby came home early from work as he was worried about me. Raided the cupboard for tablets and found some buscopan that seems to have helped. Also taken some domperidone and managed some chicken and ice cream this evening (strange mixture, I know!!)

Sorry to hear your second dose has been delayed but hopefully you will be able to have it this week.

I had my ca125 done on thurs in preparation for my appointment on Tuesday. Found out result as went to a and e afterwards. Will ask on Tuesday for another one. My GP is also good and does them for me if I feel poorly.

Wishing you all the best for this week - hope it’s a positive one for you.

Post your link for fundraising . I am sure there are loads of us that will help with what we can.

Thank you for all your advice and support. It is appreciated x x

Eriksendi--Sally Anne cannot post the link on this site but if you go to GOFUNDME on line and look for "medical" as category, you will find her. I hope I am allowed to say that! oxox

Hugs on the pain. Try to relax until your upcoming appointment. Don't borrow trouble and worry. Try try try! I know it's easy to say, but try. And really take it easy on yourself. Watch a funny movie if you can. Read a good book. Constipation can really wear a person down.

Hi Eriksendi (great name!),

I agree with Nancy....try not to jump ahead. Any time when the bowels aren’t working well can make you feel so rough....and it’s maybe why you feel out of sorts? Certainly you can feel weak & faint due to all this. Hope you have had some advice on diet. Cherish today. The sun is out here in Gloucestershire 🙂☀️🌸🌺 hope it is with you too xoxo

Try not to worry - anything to do with our bowels can cause us to feel yukky - and from experience anytime we feel unwell our minds leap to worst case scenario and this just exacerbates the unwell feeling - - I’m being monitored for possible recurrence and my stress levels have soared and I have whole host of weird feelings that might be something or nothing - try not worry - easier said than done I know but all the worrying can’t change a thing sadly x

Hi sweetie to try and put your mind a little at ease my Ca 125 jumped from 18 to 95 to 393 in 3-4 weeks, I had no aches or pains and my stoma was fine but CT showed recurrence 4 months after first line chemo so I’m on the treatment rollercoaster again but I’m glad they’ve caught it early this time x

Your Ca125 is still within normal limits and as Lily Anne says it could be up because of inflammation due to your constipation when mine was 95 they though it could be this x worry and fretting is natural for all of us with this beast but try not to let it steal too much of your time, try and distract yourself with something good that makes you laugh x

Got everything crossed you’ll be fine when you see your onc on Tuesday but try and not let the black clouds steal your sunshine get those buggers chased away if you can xx

Big hugs

Bev xx

Try not to worry you are still within normal range. It could be the constipation causing inflammation around the stoma. Make sure you are taking the right laxatives to keep every thing going smoothly. I cant imagine a stoma is comfy anyhow.,sending you all the best
