I’m 3 months post debulking surgery everything fine apart from diarrhoea which is expected after x3 bowel resection.

Yesterday Ellie decided to refuse to move off the shop floor 😳

I was alone so I had no option but too pick her up and put her in her pram.

Since then I’ve had generalised pain like pulled muscle especially when I cough and go to the toilet.

But also my bowels have been a thicker stool and I have not needed my diarrhoea tabs since.

So I’m wondering if it is my bowels changing getting better 🙏

Or it’s a pulled muscle.

Sorry to be complicated 😘

Ps I managed to get out tho still yesterday and have fun. It seems better when I’m stood up ?

Xx

I don’t think I realised how long it takes to recover from major surgery. About a year after my op, like a number of women on here, I acquired a incisional hernia. I am sure that was because I hadn’t given enough time for the muscles to heal. But hey little people need love, hugs, lifting up and I can live with my hernia if it meant my two grandchildren got the care and cuddles they needed. Four years down the line, well it can be diarrhoea or constipation, twinges everywhere and a cough seems to affect my whole body. I don’t think I will ever be like I was and a lot of us talk about the “new normal” that we have to get used to. Just keep having fun with Ellie and still take care of yourself. I know you will. Love Val xx

Lovely pic Zena. I'm no help to you regards the bowel issues except echoing Valerie, I was surprised how long it took my body to recover from my debulking surgery. There was a variety of tugs and pulls for about a year. Also I managed to give myself adhesions doing too much (having small children to look after and not wanting to be the mum with cancer) and they can pull.

But re the refusing to move off the shop floor........I remember that like it was yesterday!!! I'm afraid I left mine (albeit from a safe distance). He'd gone under a clothes rack in Marks and wouldn't come out! And I couldn't pick him up. You did well.

I hope all continues well for you. It sounds like you are doing great.

Take care and look after yourself.

Catherine x

Haha you have been through it too. I tried the walking away but too the point I couldn’t see her she still didn’t move little madam 😂.

Yes that’s they way I feel lots of pulls and tugs it’s hard to explain isn’t it. Maybe I need to do some strength ending excercise. I need to find the time 😂😘

Hi Zena 41, I'm beginning to think this cancer causes more bowel problems than anything else. I'm no better 5 years down the line. I long for diarrhoea but I bet if I had it I'd be saying the opposite. Then again, I'm never happy.

Enjoy all the cuddles you can get, I do. It outweighs everything else.

Take care, Zenaj xxx
