Dear All
Thank you for all your informative and interesting contributions to the In Focus topic for February, complementary therapies. I had planned to make the final sub-topic for the month herbs and supplements, but I think this is such a big topic we'll make it one for an entire month later on in the year (following feedback at Members Day I'm planning diet as the topic for April so herbs and supplements could follow on nicely from that in May) . Please let me know any particular supplements or herbs you'd like covered.
For March I thought the topic could be menopause. It would be really helpful if you could let me know what sub-topics would be most helpful, for example: bone health, non-hormonal management, particular symptoms like hot flushes or hair thinning, impact on sex life. Whichever you'd like information on will be the topics covered.
Here are some general resources for menopause:
Macmillan have information on their website here: macmillan.org.uk/informatio...
The Menopause Exchange provides help and support and has a quarterly newsletter: menopause-exchange.co.uk/
Hyster Sisters is a support forum: hystersisters.com/
The Daisy Network provides support for young women who experience menopause: daisynetwork.org.uk/
Also, any of you who are younger women and able to get to London may be interested in our Younger Women's Support Group on 4 April, 6-8pm at Maggies West London, where Kathy Abernethy, Menopause Specialist Nurse, will be giving a talk. Please let me know if you'd like to come & I'll add you to the list.
I hope this is helpful. I'm away from the office now until the afternoon of Thursday 15 March so I won't reply to your comments straight away, but please do let me know what would be helpful and I'll look forward to reading your suggestions on my return.
Best wishes
Anna
