AVASTIN Didn’t do the job for me

HELLO EVERYONE ,

THIS IS THE 2ND TIME I AM POSTING IN THIS GROUP hope this post finds everyone good ,, I HAVE FINISHED MY 2nd line CHEMO In AUGEST 2017 my ca125 was 6 , started avastin in September ..I started having pain in my left shoulder at the beginning I thought it was avastin side effect then my ca 125 became 11 almost doubled ,had done PET scan and it showed a recurrence in Lymph node and left side of the abdomen that causing pain referred to my left shoulder ,,I just found out about the result couple hours ago through phone and have been told I might start a targeted therapy I don’t know the name exactly and that the avastin and gemzar didn’t do the job for me,, so waiting till Tuesday to see my oncologist and discuss about the next step for sure,,

Hi, Sorry you have no success with your treatment, I would just like to say to you there are many options and your oncologist will try and find the treatment that works for you.

Avastin didn’t work for me either. CA125 was rising while in avastin so they stopped it at number 13. Am on 2nd line now. Back on taxol and carbo but taxol only now as reacted with carbo but I’m doing ok.

Hope you are ok. There are lots of treatments out there. Xxx

it’s good you are doing ok and so sorry for the carbo reaction, I am stopping avastin after 4 treatments and feeling disappointed, thank you for replying suzanne333,best of luck xoxo

Avastin didn’t work for me either, CA 125 rose steadily dose after dose so we stopped it. Then had 18 weekly doses of carbo taxol and that worked very well. Sounds as if your onc will help you find an alternative plan pronto. Good luck and try not to worry as there are lots of options yet.

I had carbo taxol first line as well as second line, but first line it was three weekly and second line weekly. Take care xx

Avastin doesn’t work for a lot of people so please don’t worry as Lorraine has said there are still so many options available to you so it’s not all bad but 1 thing I would advise anyone if your oncology team are prepared to throw your case on the pile seek a second opinion sometimes an outside view is all that’s needed xxx

Avastin alone didn't work for me, either. Now on taxol and avastin. This is my third go around. Hope you do well. This disease is no fun, but thank God there are so many options available o us. Best of luck to you. Judyved

thank you dear for your reply..my oncologist is referring me for a clinical trial saying that receiving chemo may make things worse i don't know how it would make things worse than it is or why he said that!!not sure if i would be accepted in the trial, hope you do well too and best of luck for you, xX
