I am new to this website and I thought maybe I could get some help or even just experience stories. I am 23 years old. After not having a period for about 4 years when I should have, I went to my gynecologist in Ohio and long story short she misdiagnosed me so when I moved down to my moms I saw a new doctor in South Carolina. So on and so forth, I had a 12cm tumor on my left ovary called an "Ovarian Fibroma". I had the tumor and my ovary removed. This was on October 17th, 2017. My doctor said that she has never heard of this happening to someone my age and it shouldn't have developed because of how young I am, it's mostly found in women 40+ and entering menopause. So I was wondering if anyone here has ever had this tumor and knows what causes it? I still have tests to do in Feb. but I would like to get some knowledge of this if I can. Thanks! ♥

Hello Kayla, my only suggestion is to contact the Ovacome Support Nurse, Anna on support@ovacome.org.uk She also does Skype calls - ovacome.support - but maybe you need to arrange a day and time over the email first? Not sure, sorry!
Good luck and take care. Lesley
I have stage 3c low grade serous carcinoma. I was diagnosed in 2015. After my debulking surgery my doctor said my right ovary was 19 cm long and the left one about half that size. She told me I had a cyst that developed into a tumor. But mine was not called ovarian fibroma, not sure if this helps or not. I wish you the best of luck.
Hi I had an ovarian fibroma 11 months ago. My gyn thought I had OC, but sent me to an oncologist that diagnosed me and did a hysterectomy because of the fibroma. It was benign and I am fine today.
