Normal CA 125 is anything under 30; however not everyone's CA 125 raises with ovarian cancer. Only half of individuals with stage 1 have a raised CA 125. I would imagine it would be worth wild to access your mothers symptoms, rather than rely on the marker.

Cysts are normal; and depending if you are still menstruating tend to disappear on their own.

Have you had any symptoms that caused them to find the cyst?

Good info here about ca125... Your Mum's doctor is taking good care of her by requesting tests. Best wishes, Sx

Mere prescence of a cyst and a single digit CA 125 of 5 , the chances of it being benign is a distinct possibility. But, its best that at this nascent stage you go by your Doc's advice. There are many other symtoms like bloating, ascites, fatigue etc etc that will need to be looked at including imaging , and all this can only be done by a professional.
