New report on plasma jet treatment in Daily Mail health section 23/19/17. Think you need to be newly diagnosed.

Hi Yes I've read the Daily Mail health section yesterday. Very interesting. I wonder if it's relevant for 2nd surgery which I'm investigating and I have bowel and bladder issues due to this horrible disease.

Best wishes to everybody.

Gwen,

The Ovacome Helpline maybe able to help with your question about second surgery? Try Anna on 0800 008 7054. If you are on the mailing list for the Ovacome Magazine you will see my case was mentioned as an example of second surgery; if I understand correctly there are four main hospitals in England with the infrastructure and surgeon skill to give world class second opinions on the reality of possible success. But I know nothing of this new plasma jet treatment, so hopefully Anna will - or be able to find out more? Good luck and today is a good day,

Lesley

I was told that a PlasmaJet might be used in my surgery - in the end my surgery was just 3 hours and I’m not sure if it was needed. I’ve looked at the Daily Mail article and it’s my surgeon the have interviewed so I don’t know how widely it is used. I don’t seem to be able to follow the link to the ovacome page but I assume that gives more information. Andrea

I had the plasma jet three years ago. My surgeon had just come back from the training in Switzerland and I may even have been her first patient to benefit!

It does depend on your tumours. Surgeon was able to get a lot more of my tumours that were close to the bowel than without the plasmajet, but she still couldnt get one of them because it had adhered to the bowel too much.

However my hospital no longer has the equipment available. They are trying to get it again.
