Some Encouraging Words

β€’10 Replies

Hello Ladies. Wishing you all a good day today and the strength and motivation to meet your challenges. Having been challenged more so than whatever is "normal" with this disease and its treatment I find myself in need of encouragement often. You have provided me much of that, thank you. I also find that the universe is rallying to provide me with little ways to keep pushing toward a cure or even remission and today, after a trip to the pharmacy, I found this note on my windshield. From whom it came, I do not know, though I can only imagine it is from another cancer patient or survivor. It made me pause and think and I've been a bit calmer and better able to deal with things today, so I thought I would share it will you. I hope it brings you some relief.

"If you are feeling frightened about what comes next, don't be. Embrace the uncertainty, allow it to lead you places. Be brave as it challenges you to exercise your heart and mind as you create your own path to happiness; don't waste time with regret. Spin wildly into your next action. Enjoy the present, each moment as it comes, because you'll never get another one just like it. And if you should ever get up and find yourself lost, simply take a breath and start over. Retrace your steps and go back to the purest place in your heart...where your hope lives. You'll find your way again." (Everwood)

Thank you! Having had a run of dismay moments over the last few months and now awaiting a new plan, I found this really helpful.

I'm glad it helped. The note is taped to my mirror and I see it every morning. It has inspired me to keep going on days when I don't much feel like going on and it helps me walk into those frightening moments from which i would otherwise run. Wishing you well (and wishing too that a wish was all it took...).
