2nd reocurence........

I'm on carboplatin only had number two yesterday for second recurrence stage 1C. I'm on 50% dose expecting it to go up to 75% for number three. Felt ok with number one not so okay with number two. But at least it has a finishing line
Don't forget we are all here to help on the bumpy days

Damn, blast and bugger! I'm sorry you're having to deal with this barsteward again. Fingers crossed the carbo does its job for you this time Lynn, we are all here for you and let us know how you get on, Take lots of care ❤️Xx Jane
Hard when we get a recurrence. However you onc knows what he is doing so believe in him. You should get info sheet from Gynae liaison nurse. Probably constipation is a possible side effect so plenty fluids prunes in juice and East smaĺ amounts rather than big meals.
I haven't had carbo on its own but just wanted to say sorry to hear your news and I too have recently started chemo again second time round (am on cisplatin/gem) which not getting on with at all and think they may have to change. Sending you hugs and sending you hope. It's really hard when you first get the news I know but I hope as you get your head around it you feel a bit better. Love Mary xxxx
That's a harsh regime using cisplatin. When I spoke to the Professor on Monday she suggested carbo/caleyx as a next time treatment. Love the way they plan ahead 🙄 Only just started this one. So maybe if you're struggling that could be an option ?

Thanks, LA - that's interesting to hear and hopefully she'll have some advice regarding chemo as well as surgery when I see her. The cisplatin/gem's been so bad I've only managed 2 out of 4 so far which is no way to go so something needs changing which I'll be asking about when I have my next review on Friday. Hope you're feeling OK after your chemo. Lots of love xxx
Hi Lynne I am sorry to hear your cancer has recurred, I hope you are not feeling too unwell. I had carboplatin only for first line treatment for advanced PPC. I was told that carboplatin does the vast majority of the work. It was successful for me, even though debulking had been suboptimal I went into full remission. There were side effects, mainly fatigue and an upset stomach, some nausea which could be managed with drugs, and lowered WBC counts. Mostly the side effects only lasted for the first weeks, started feeling better in week 2 and more or less myself in week 3 . I hope this is helpful and that the carboplatin if you decide to have it works well for you.

Lynn so sorry you are having to start treatment again . Sending lots of positive vibes and a big hug. Just wanted you to know you are in my thoughts and prayers along with the other lovely ladies fighting a recurrence at present . Stay strong have faith in your team and if you need reassurance about your treatment plan you could try ringing the Ovacome helpline or getting a second opinion . Love and best wishes Kim x
Hi Lynn,
Sorry to hear you're having a recurrence. I also had Carbo for 2nd recurrence, with Avastin and Cyclophosphamide but the last two were suspended due to low bloods, so I had Carbo only. My oncologist also said that Carbo was the main drug and was doing most of the good work! Side effects were not nearly as bad as carbo/taxol, some nausea for a few days and of course, fatigue, which I think is par for the course!
Best wishes!

Hi Lynn, I'm sorry to hear you've a second recurrence. I will have to undergo chemo again too but hopefully not for a while, I'm still on watch and wait for the minute. I did discuss with my oncologist what the chemo would be when I do have to start and I was told it would be a single agent this time, it will be carboplatin. I'm stage 3b high grade serous. Have you good a date to start yet? Be Interested to hear how it goes for you. All the best. Ann xxx
I am waiting for a call to set up my treatment.I think I will be starting next week. They said the sooner the better, that I would start feeling better.Im guessing with just carbo that I won't lose my hair. This is a good thing.Hoping that you are clear for a long time.I will post how everything goes.THANKS for your reply.Lynn💙💙
Thank you all for your replies.I don't feel like I'm going through this alone. It's nice to communicate with all you ladies that are going through similar treatments/ stories. While waiting for my treatment to start, I continue on my 5 miles walks., and will continue to stay as positive as I can.Best wishes to you all.Lynnxo💙💙
I have not had a reoccurrence (yet), so I don't know about treatment, but I wish you the best. As you said, keep fighting...
Ah Lynn I'm so sorry to read this. No wonder you're feeling a lot of emotions. Any of us would. Although not what you wanted or expected especially so soon, you have some experience of what's to come and although I can't offer you any advice personally, I know some of the other ladies can. For now, get those big girl pants back out and give it hell Hun 💪🏻 you're in my thoughts. Jemima xx
HI Lynn, Sorry to hear about your recurrence, I'm now on my 4th line treatment in 2 1/2
years I understand your feelings but once your treatment starts and your fighting spirit kicks in then the beast better watch out. Sending you my best wishes and a big hug..Lorraine xx 💖
Hoping that the chemo makes you feel better -seems a strange thing to say! I am really sorry that you have to go through it again.
