im already preparing myself for this, ( it's line treatment ) review today confirmed plural infusions, no reduction in CA125 post op and two chemos's. final Chemo next week. Consultant planned CT scan for 4 weeks post chemo.

He said even if there is no NED he doesn't feel happy to leave me 3 months with CA2125 of 140 so will see me 6 weekly.

Point being my strategy. ( if it helps )

If I am plantinum resistant, there are STILL other options regarding treatment.

Remember those feeling on diagnosis. Imminent death! That didn't happen.

This is not over until we are told there is nothing more they can offer. And then there's, 2nd opinions, alteranatives and miracles! Yes they do happen.

Keep as positive and as calm as you can.

I know it's so easy to advise and I never listen to my own!!

But I'm certain someone will come up trumps on here and give you those words that lift your spirits & offer some reassurance xxx

Jessica D-B, sometimes CA continues down after chemo stops. Best of luck, sending a hug your way. T

Hi Friscok12, I know a lady here in Northern Ireland who didn't get to NED after chemo at all. She's still going strong and is just about to complete second line treatment. As JDB said, there are lots of other treatments that might suit you better. Don't despair, its not over yet. Ann xx

After my 4th cancer operation, my cancer was back within 3 months. I then completed 2 courses of chemo, & tried 4 types of hormone therapy without ever reaching NED. The last 2 types of hormone therapy were both discontinued after 3 months because they were having no obvious effect on my tumours. I then started a 3rd line of chemo last November. It was discontinued after 3 cycles because it was having no effect at all. My onc then suggested considering asking the surgeons about further surgery. They said no, so he asked for a second opinion. A surgeon at another hospital said he thought surgery was possible. He operated at the end of February this year. After 4 years with little progress with treatment, I was finally NED. I know it's easy to be discouraged, think nothing is going to help, think you're running out of options, etc. But it's not over till it's over. Try to keep hope. There are, as The Silent One said, other options.

Hi again Friscok. A woman at my support group was diagnosed around 15 years ago & given 6 months to live. It never returned. I know yours has, but the point I want to make is that I see OC as a tree. The trunk is all of us - we all have OC - but the branches go every which-way. We are all different and, like faces, no 2 stories are the same. Keep those fighting knickers pulled up high. Best wishes. Pauline.

Hi Friscok, Like all the other ladies I will just say the same there are lots of treatment lines for you, I did have recurrence in under 3 month Just on 3 years ago,. I'm still fighting it's not always been easy but I've managed, Your team will come up with a treatment line for you and you can give the beast a kick in the butt.

Cheers and best wishes Lorraine xx
