I finished my last chemo treatment and it's been the most difficult. It's been 12 days since the infusion and starting four days ago I wake up in the chemo fog. I work as a court interpreter and the concentration necessary for the job helps clear my head. My question is, has anyone had any side effect with their vision and will it go away?

Eyesight
I find I have watery eyes, but my vision is OK. The watering is annoying though!
Hey!
I found that as chemo went on my eyes did get weaker, foggier if you like but not all the time! I had decided that I would get them checked out after I finished Chemo. After a couple of months they were better but I got the eyes checked anyway as I hadn't had them done for a while and they were the same as they were beforehand. Optician said they hadn't deteriorated at all so what I felt during and immediately after finishing Chemo must have been the chemo! I was very happy cos at one stage I did think it was going to be permanent! Hopefully you too will find that it gets better but may take a few months!
Dx
Yes, I have noticed a slight deterioration in my sight when watching TV and particularly in my close vision when reading. As I have another two Carbo/Tackle sessions followed by Avast in I don't think it is worth seeing an optician until the treatment is over.
This does happen, ask your doctor. May I encourage you by listening to m.youtube.com/watch?v=TAF2h...
All the best
I had 12 months of chemo for colon cancer and ovarian cancer in 2004. I was very dizzy and had a lot of double vision . Sometimes I would walk into the wall trying to get thru a doorway in the house. It did finally clear up about 2 to 3 weeks after my last treatment.
I had this problem during the whole 12 months of my chemo.
Hope you are feeling better soon.
I've worn glasses for years, and I was coming up to needing a new prescription before chemo (I need maybe one or two steps up in the prescription). I DID notice that my eyesight deteriorated quite significantly during chemo, to the point where I was struggling to see the TV even with my glasses on. If I had to guess, I'd say it would have been 5 or so prescription levels worse.
I finished chemo early March, and my eyesight is now back to it was before chemo. I still need new glasses, but only by one prescription or so.
I also had a lot of trouble with my hearing, a general lowering of volume and then a muffling of sound. That's also returned to normal.
Thanks. That is very helpful. I hadn't even mentioned the hearing difficulties. I am a court interpreter and the muffled sound has made things very difficult. I also have an odd pulsating noise on occasion that sounds like a cartoon character chomping on some food or a loud pulsating machine. Very disconcerting.
Well it seems that my eyesight problems were from a drastic drop in red blood cell count. I had a transfusion and was not affected by blurry pulsating vision the next day.
