I've just had my second lot of chemo a week ago. I've advanced ovarian as its spread to the omentum. I've got sharp little pains in my tummy now though. Has anyone else experienced this? Should I be worried or is it the chemo doing its job and it's nerve endings or something.

Hi Suzanne, I too have just had my second cycle of chemo, carbo/taxol with Avastin. I had stomach pains after my first cycle and again this time. I mentioned it to my oncologist and he didn't seem to think it was any thing to worry about. I have also had a hysterectomy on 2nd June so imagine that it is all still a bit raw in there. Hope this helps, Helen X
Thanks Suzanne, yes I have heard of other women who have had stomach pains on Avastin, hope you're feeling better soon, mine usually subside after about ten days. Take care, Helen x
Hi yes I had the same pains after chemo to, did ask my oncologist at the time and he didn't seem worried about it. If you are worried contact your CNS and explain just for your peace of mind.
Hi Suzanne. I had similar pains after both my chemos, and I'm on the same 3 as you with 3c OC also in omentum, peritoneum etc. I think it is the drugs working. Your nurse would be able to put your mind at rest maybe?
Suzanne333, I would get very sharp stomach pains a few days after each chemo. Towards the end of treatment they stopped completely.
I also feel this is normal, I would get crampy at times on Avastin, it certainly didnt agree with the drink you get for ct scan so I just carried immodium with me. I have finished with Avastin at present and all this has stopped.
I have had night pains in stomach mainly near tumours when I've had Chemo in the past and it's not been anything sinister. I've assumed it's the Chemo doing its job but I would mention it to you nurse or doctor. All the best with it.
I also had sharp pains in first few days after chemo sessions 1-3. I thought it was the chemo doing its job. My Gynaecologist/oncologist thinks this is the case and said that he hears this from a number of his patients.
Hi Suzanne, My oncologist said my pains were almost definitely the chemo working on my tumours, last time I was on chemo, which made me feel very positive and I had a good outcome from the chemo. Hope that helps you feel a bit better. Love, Solange
I also had the pains in the abdomen with chemo and also had cancer in my omentum. I also ended up with a very good outcome with the chemo, and when I had surgery they were able to get all the visible cancer. I figured the pains were the chemo doing their job. Hang in there.....Kim xo
