Hi ladies is any one on tamaxifen
Dear Rosanne, I took tamoxifen in 2006 & 2007. I had breast cancer and after surgery, chemo was offered but the Drs didn't think it would be very helpful ( one of those statistics conversations). I had radiotherapy and then zoladex injections that brought on the menopause. The tamoxifen worked well for me as I did not have a reoccurance of that cancer. Unfortunately I got a new primary breast cancer and then needed different treatment. But if I can put your mind rest in someway. The tamoxifen and surgery and radiotherapy worked for me. T. X
Dear Rosanne, I have been taking tamoxifen for 15 months! I was diagnosed with OC in April 2014 and then found out I was BRAC1 so now at high risk of breast cancer. I have yearly mammograms and was advised to take tamoxifen for 5 years as there is some thought that it might reduce the risk of breast cancer by 40%. that sounds good to me - so I have been taking it with no ill effect - apart from remembering to take it everyday!! Wishing you well and everyone else on this site! X
Hi, yes i take tamoxifen. Since jan 2016. My ca125 was rising after a scan the oc was recurring so they offered me wait & see, tamoxifen or chemo. I chose tamoxifen & it is working for me .my ca125 is stable at 60. Hope this helps.
I have a recurrence of OC which had only a partial response to chemo. I was then taking Exemestane for a year, & my onc advised changing to Tamoxifen after my last scan in April. I have my first scan since starting to take it later this month, so hope it's having some effect.

I've been taking Tamoxifen since January 2016. I was diagnosed with peritoneal cancer in April 2015 and had chemo and a debulking operation which were largely successful but didn't remove all the disease. So far the cancer has stayed stable, although my CA125 has increased, and I'm having 3 monthly checks. But I feel well, which really adds to my quality of life, and have been able to return to work part-time. Hope your treatment works well for you.
Thank you ladies for all your kind words and support thanks for letting me no it means a lot keep fighting xxx
