Hi I have ppc and had the debulking op after the surgeon said to me "well the cancer won't get there" but most of the ladies who have had that op it was to take the cancer away. So I wonderd if anyone else as been told this. Thankyou

Hi juliette.

Not sure what u mean, the op I had was to remove all visible signs of cancer. If you didn't have cancer there why the operation?? I don't understand what u are saying?

I have got cancer in the lining round my stomach, so I just presumed that it was to stop it going into the bits I don't need, like my womb ovaries ext.

Maybe he meant he had taken all the risk areas away?

Just had debulking and cancer on my peritonean only although a lot of disease in the peritonean. I was told that all my female parts had to be. removed as they are the same cells so could appear there. Like yourself I thought what a complete waste but if it keeps me in remission then no choice. Xx

I had TAH as a precaution too, and it still came back. I do wonder with hindsight if I should have just held on and dealt with it as and when.

Hi Juliette - I read as the cancer wont get there as the bits have gone!!!! Had the surgery and chemo and now approaching 3 years since diagnosis of PPC. Positive thoughts and maybe next time you see him/her ask what exactly did they mean. xx
