Keep getting upset

Had my forth cycle (taxol/carboplatin) two weeks ago and I've found this to be my worst treatment. Had another urine infection, twinges around tummy area and can't stop crying. Is this all to do with the chemo and has any of you lovely ladies had this problem? l'm dreading next week (fifth cycle)

Hi. I remember cycle 4 being particularly difficult 2 weeks after debulking and yet I used to get lots of twinges in my abdomen for upto 11 days after chemo. Think of it as you only have 2 to get through now and you can start recovery when the sun is shining. Xx

Dya know what Leeds I find that I spontaneously generate floods of tears on a regular basis during the days following Chemo and it happened again in the 4th cycle! For some reason during 4th cycle I also felt incredibly tired over and above anything I have experienced to date! I have my 5th cycle next Weds so preparing myself for the tears and tiredness!!!

Chemo is brutal and really hammers your physical and mental wellbeing! BUT I try to keep in mind that it's pulverising the cancer cells so hopefully it's worth it! !!

Good luck with the remainder of your treatments and I will check back next week after no 5!!!!

Onwards and Upwards! !

Dx

Chemo 4 with carbo/taxol I remember being so fatigued and wiped emotionally and physically that I had breakfast day or so after and collapsed on the floor trying to get back to bed (I was only 51!). Combination I think of exhaustion and anxiety! Hubby was flipping out. Remember also crawling to the WC on a number of occasions in the week after chemo. Met women who would tell me they were working during chemo and I just could not imagine with my job, working with children and families, high level reports, no flexibility. Did not work for almost a year with all associated surgeries etc. I went on an antidepressant and antianxiety meds (still on them) bc of all the tears I shed. Be kind to yourself and be OK with your reactions. This is a scourge of a disease! You are doing your best!! I am 2 years out NED and crossing my fingers every day. Others (NON cancer survivors) think I should be over it all when I speak of my continual worries and lingering physical problems. They don't get it, that I live under a large shadow!! Plan a simple but meaningful celebration of life when you finish chemo and are a few weeks out (me and hubby went away for weekend, saw a nice play, had a nice meal that I could enjoy etc). Something to shoot for. Good luck!!

All the above is just what I'm going through. To be true full I was beginning to think the worst. Thank you for your response. 👍

I sympathise. Felt like crap after chemo 3 ... Exhausted, awful muscle and joint pains, clumsy, woolly-headed, tearful and sleep, despite being so tired, was elusive. I believe it is all part of our healing process, something we have to go through. Treat yourself gently and remember you are fighting a huge battle and you will win. Hugs. Xxx

I could have written your post. I am exactly the same. Stomach pain has been having me convinced everything was growing even though CA125 coming down and Ct scan after chemo 3 says partial response.

Same as me CA125 coming down,ct scan showing shrinkage. Thought something was rearing its ugly head again. Chemo number 5 next Wednesday. I'll let you know how I get on.

Hi, I had first cycle of second line chemo 2 weeks ago. I had tummy pains and remember them from first time around too. I tend to think of it as the chemo burning the little blighters. Xo
