Rash after chemo completed

I developed a red, itchy rash on my arms, hands and legs about 3 weeks after completing an 18 week regime of taxol and carboplatin. My skin is also very, very dry, which is unusual for me. Has anyone experienced a rash after the chemo treatments were completed?

Hi there

Mum developed a severe rash over her chest arms and head after having the same chemo. She was told to take antihistamines.

The rash on her head went but she could still feel the tingle of it upto 10 months later.

Thank you, Aliroo. The rash has resolved, and the dry skin is much better, too. I do hope your Mom is doing better. I've said a prayer for her.

I had a severe rash after caelyx , but not on carbo plat /taxol ...your GP might be able to help with anti histamines and dermo 500 , a cream with which you can wash , and use as an all over moisturiser .

As chemo affects our mineral /hormonal balances rashes are not unusual but can be managed .

Your CN might be able to help too and of course , your oncology team should know about your reaction .

Thank you, Angela. I have an appointment with the Nurse Practitioner at the Oncology clinic next week, and with my GP shortly after that. I'm sure the NP will be able to help. She's very good.
