Interested to hear on this website that paclitaxel may be being taken off list of approved drugs by NICE?
Which paper was this in and does anyone know the reason that it might be withdrawn????

I may be wrong, but I don't think this is the case. However, there may well be a change in what's to be offered in the future, following consultations, from what is available now. This article is interesting:

I hope this helps.
Agree, I have my second reoccurrence but not on chemo yet, have gone into a vaccine trial. Its a double blinded trial so not sure if I am getting the placebo or vaccine , but it there's no improvement or I feel unwell I will be back on chemo, and my oncologist did mention that he would try something other than paclictaxol.
I was told that some oncologists like to keep Taxol in reserve for later. I have never heard of a double blind study used with Ovarian. What trial is it? Really hope it works well for you.
The Guidance is in draft form and it actually recommends that taxol is retained for the treatment of OC as it is a cost effect treatment. I am sure ovacome will be commenting on the draft guidance so I wonder what their take is on this?
Yes I have tried to research further and you are right, taxol and Caelix are being retained and it is looking at taking Gem off?! All very confusing!
Thank you for putting us straight.
