From sassysal. Had my first round of chemo thru chest port today...all went well.....carboplatin,taxol,taxotegl, for carcinosarcoma of ovar

Will have my abdominal port placed next week and start intraperitoneal chemo ofcisplatinum and taxol. Have heard good stories about this procedure, and horror stories.....any positive feedback?

I. Had the same treatment as u in 1994 and I am still alive and kicking. I did have problems in 2009. A tumor that was still in my abdominal lining wrapped around my small intestines and due to a bad surgeon had a leak and had to end up getting an ileostomy. The cancer wasn't that bad but the ileostomy has been a nightmare. Make sure your doctors look at your cat scans and make sure you aren't developing anything like this...
