Fibromas

Anyone know anything about them? My doctor is now saying my tumour could be a fibroma, but I have no idea what a fibroma is. I'm having a radical hysterectomy on Thursday and I'm terrified.

Hi Katlan,

Last time someone asked this question I got it confused with fibroids, (I know better now)... but still have no knowledge or experience of this.

If you scroll down the page there is a link to ovarian fibroma so you might glean something from reading that (I know I did) but there is no point repeating it when you can read it yourself, from what I can gather there is not much to worry about but really I am not sure best wishes love x G x

Hello Gwyn, thanks for your reply, I've looked at the link. Information seems a bit lacking generally about fibromas. I'm to have a radical hysterectomy, because apparently it's impossible to tell whether the tumour is cancer, without removing it. I'm having everything out, including my omentum.

I was thinking more of the person that came in further down the link that said she had it, and it is usually benign so it did seem good news to me.

I am sorry you have all this worry you could give the ovacome helpline a ring on Monday they might be able to tell you more tel 0845 371 0554

Best wishes love x G x
