About to have chemo regime of carboplatin and Calex (3rd line treatment). Any one else had this? What are side effects?
I have recently finished Carbo/Caelyx as a third line treatment.
I wouldn't like to say too much about side effects as we are all different..they gave me a Macmillen leaflet on what to expect and it was pretty much spot on with skin problems etc...I can say it was easier at the start.. but the side effects are accumulative...I didn't lose my hair but it has gone very thin and would have preferred to have lost the lot.
But I am now out the other side and you will be too.

Hi, Sandra had Carbo/Caelyx as her 3rd line. She tolerated it very well, in fact of the 6 lines this was the only one she completed the 6 cycles. Although skin sores are common, she didnt suffer with it. She did feel pretty rubbish but the all chemos tend to make her feel rubbish. They also say Caelyx is a slow starter in taking effect but when used with carboplatin she had instant results. You dont lose your hair but like Gwyn said some get thinning, Sandra did,nt.
