On Saturday my husband, son and I are doing the three peaks of north Yorkshire challenge. This involves walking Pen-Y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough approx 26 miles in 12 hours or less.
We are raising money for Ovacome, I set a target of £1000 and have already raised £1600.
I also hope to raise awareness of OC as I have got an ova come t -shirt to wear and lots of ovacome cards to give out.
After being diagnosed in Sep 12, unsucesful surgery, six cycles of carbo/taxol/avastin I am now on avastin only as a maintenance. I feel really well at the moment and have set this challenge for myself, and to show that you can live your life despite having OC.
Taking plenty of water and hoping the weather cools down a little!
I will try and post some pictures after the event,
Love Brenda xx

Good for you Brenda. Your efforts are an inspiration to many I am sure. Wow! That's great to smash your target like that and for such a worthy cause. The Yorkshire hills have a real beauty and if this fine weather continues for you it will be fantastic. Best wishes to you all for a great day...take plenty to drink, makes me thirsty just thinking about walking to the shops its so warm lol.
Regards

Hi Brenda
Well done for setting yourself this challenge. I hope all goes well for you and look forward to hearing how it goes. That's fantastic that you've so exceeded your target. Thank you for doing this for all of us!
Good luck for Saturday. It's quite some challenge and will demonstrate to one and all how we can continue to lead active and interesting lives having had a diagnosis of Ovarian Cancer.
Have you got a JustGiving Page? I'd be happy to make a contribution to your fundraising. I like to try and support everyone who does something like this.
Good luck with your 26 miles walking. It´s a big challenge for someone who stopped chemo in February, specially with the heat.
Love, Fernanda.
Goodness that is a LONG walk! Best of luck, hope you can carry all the water you will need... Ah, you have a husband and son along for that, good planning
