Hi all
I saw an old thread discussing support groups in the north for younger ladies.
Can anyone tell me what may have happened about this as I live in Carlisle and would be interested in joining / helping to start a group.
Thanks

Hiya Sue,
I've been following the chat on the MacMillan thread, sorry for this very delayed reply, just been a bit tied up lately! When I started asking about this, a CNS from the North-West of England called Helen seemed to be thinking about setting up a group - I suspect this would have been based Liverpool or Manchester, I'm not sure - but I guess that would be relatively local for you?
Otherwise the head of my local maggie's centre also floated the idea of an online support group for younger women our age, which she would offer to facilitate - not quite the same as meeting up face to face, but perhaps more do-able, since I suspect us younger women with OC are scattered across the UK. I haven't been bugging Lesley about it so much lately as I've had other things going on, but I will take this as a good reason to ask her about it again. If we could find other girls who are interested and not able to get to the London group then that would be great - so far I haven't really found many but then I don't really know how to look exactly - maybe we could brain-storm and approach this together somehow?
Love from

Hi Cat
Thanks for the reply and please don't apologise there is no need.
Liverpool is certainly much closer than London yes but it still an hour or two away (I am pretty much on the border of England and Scotland) but we have to think about what is central because as you say we are scattered across the country.
I am hoping by starting this new thread we will get some interest from others in the same situation and from there we can start to get a feel of how many and in what location people may be.
I love the idea of approaching this together, I have e-mailed Ovacome for help but have not yet recieved a reply (only sent Saturday though), if we can get some help and guidance from them as well this may help where to focus our efforts.
Let us keep an eye on this thread for interest and I will let you know when Ovacome get in touch and what they say. If we don't get anywhere from this then we may need to look at a new approach.
Wishing you well and hopefully we will meet / talk to develop this more
Love Sue x
