It is with great sadness that we let you know about the loss of 2 of our wonderful OvaCare ladies. Gretta Maloney and Joan Moore both passed away in the last week. Many of you will know Joan on here as Suzuki and she gave alot of advice and support over the years. Gretta was a regular on our virtual coffee and chats and was always so positive and put others in a good mood. We will miss them both dearly. RIP Gretta and Joan

Sad News on loss of 2 OvaCare members
So sad to hear this news. May they both rest in peace x
So sad, my thoughts are with their families. Thank you for letting us know x
Thank you for sharing that sad news. What a loss. Condolences to both their families. Suzuki was such a comfort in my time of need. I’m sure I’m not alone in saying that.
Deepest Sympathies to both Joan's & Gretta's families. When I joined here 2yrs ago Joan often gave me great advice & put my mind at ease. She hasnt been active on here for a good while & I often wondered how she was keeping.. She was very proud when she was given an award in Ireland a couple of years ago for been a great patient advocate for women with gynaecological cancers. Thinking of both their families at this time & may they both rest in peace now Xx
So sad to hear this. My thoughts are with their families & friends. X
My condolences to their families and fellow membersof ovacare- i didn't know them very well but they have left a wonderful legacy to our community
Thanks for this sad news. I wondered about Suzuki.
Very sad news indeed. Deepest sympathy to both families. Suzuki contributed so much over the years and always provided fantastic advice and guidance. Although I never met her she will always hold a special place in my heart. May both ladies rest in peace. ❤️
So sad about this, Suzuki and I were in regular contact in the past about weddings, grandkids and I have been lax in keeping contact her or anyone, just presuming when people go quiet they are getting on with life,I just want to pass best wishes to both families,
Love,
Carole xx
Thank you all for the lovely comments.
Hi I'm new to this group I got my results of bisopy and I was informed I have ovarian cancer and it is in the Omentum too. I'm from Dublin and waiting to meet the consultant in St james hospital. Thanks Orla
Hi, I was also diagnosed with ovarian cancer in March this year, also in the omentum. Had 3 rounds chemo, surgery and then 3 more rounds chemo, last one the end of July, next review appt December. Found St James Hospital to be excellent, best of luck. 🤗
Hi thanks for replying very scary time. Meet consultant yesterday and he wants me to have surgery first and 6 rounds of chemo. Date for admission to james for next Thursday just got a call to say it was cancelled waiting to get a new date for next week for surgery in the beacon or Blackrock clinic. How were you after surgery did you get everything removed x
Yes all removed, the surgery went well, thankfully. I was in for two weeks, the pain management was excellent, it just takes a bit of time to get up and moving again. It is scary but suggest take it all in small steps x
So said to see Joan passed. She was a great lady. Loved getting to know her through our work together for breakthrough cancer research. Sending love to her and Grettas families
