What I'm hearing is frightening. I was diagnosed in February 2024. I'm 63 year of female, and since then I've done a lot of research and all of the drugs will promise you bone growth and may they will grow.....for a while! The max time you can stay on these drugs is 2 years max. Then on to the next for a few years... The problem is when you try to get off of them and your body doesn't now how to promote it's own growth because the drug did it for you. Now your bones are destroyed with little options to get your bones in good shape. I'm going the natural way with weight bearing exercise 3 times per week. Physical therapy twice per week and a high protein diet and Algae Cal Supplement along with others supplements recommended by Dr. Doug Lucas. I had started taking Algae Cal as soon as I was diagnosed and found Dr. Doug in May 2024. Healthspan Nation, and I'm so please with my results thus far because I'm building muscle and if you see muscle growth on the outside, you know you has some growth. It's a lot of work, but worth it. Think about this....Osteoporosis is natural breaking down of bone because because we're not using our muscles like we use to. The WHO (World Health Organization) made it a decease so doctors and pharmaceutical companies can make money off of it by selling you the drugs while you're on a lifetime bone deterioration and poor quality of life. It's not in their best interest to heal you but the sicker you are, the richer they are....I know, sad:-|

hi. I’m surprised you had your dexa already. My doc told me I would need to wait for about a year because bone grows slowly. I wouldn’t think you would see results yet? I finished Evenity last month and go for my first prolia injection tomorrow. Am not having dexa scan until next April. Just weird how docs are all giving different opinions. Wish you the best!!

Wow, we do get different info, makes this even scarier. She said get dexa in 3 months then Prolia within 3 months. Have you heard anything about Reclast? Had trouble with Prolia in the past, not wanting to take again. Dexa today🙏🏼 wishing you luck also😉

As they say, there's more then one way to skin a cat🫠

So sorry to hear your story, I know how disappointing must be for you. This disease is exhausting on your generally wellbeing because you cannot tell what is happening until a DXA.

Feels like a lottery most of the time.

Whatever advice for your next treatment you are getting from now on, make sure that you are happy with it and understand the pros and the cons from the start.

If Prolia is offered to you, make sure you ask lots of questions and agree a plan for relaying off it with another defined drug in the future and how, before you start.

Better to sound out your doctor now, before you start onto your next chapter.

Prolia discontinuation must be agreed to a tight protocol with regular bone markers ( CTX and P1NP ) every 2 to 3 months from the date your next dose is due, Discontinuation is not simple if your doctor is not on the same wave as you.

Too many doctors, rheumo specialists either do not have a clue or want to keep you on the drug for the rest of your life once you start.

I was not told about his intention and did not know this drug was so powerful in many ways, good and very worrying ones.

I was never warned about to problems with discontinuation, have had more than 10 doses, very moderate gains, and I have just found out that my consultant has not intention to help me out coming off prolia. Even discarched me from hospital care...

I wish you all the best. But remember to arm yourself with lots of knowledge and research on medical and clinical trials papers.
