I just don’t want to take Osteoporosis drugs. Cannot take Vit K2 because of taking Eliquis, for AFib.
Would going to specialist help?

Are you sure you can't take Vitamin K2 when you are on Eliquis? My understanding is it's only an issue with warfarin but not with the new generation of blood thinners.
If you prefer not to take a supplement there may be some food sources which could help, particularly some fermented foods, and also eating animal products (dairy for example) from animals that have been grass fed, never grain fed. Grain fed animals do not produce Vitamin K2 for us, which is one reason the vitamin is often lacking in our diet these days.
I asked the pharmacist at Costco and they said no VitK when on Eliquis
Frankly, I'd seek a second opinion on that! Yes, caution is advised with warfarin, although K2 does not have the same effect on blood coagulation as Vitamin K, but the newer anticoagulants like Eliquis do not interact with Vitamin K2. Too many people don't know enough about Vitamin K2, or perhaps have never even heard of it.
Thank You I will, what about a compound pharmacy
Just a pharmacist who knows the difference between the old and new anticoagulants? They were probably just trying to be safe rather than sorry, but if your bones need Vitamin K2 as much as your vascular system needs an anticoagulant, it is best to be accurately informed! There is quite a lot of info on the internet these days, the drug interaction checkers, for example, and before replying to you just now I went through and looked again for my own peace of mind. Only when I got to the older articles which do not distinguish between K1 and K2 did I find anything of concern. That's the problem, really, it's important to make sure the distinction is understood. I think it's rather like the B vitamins, which are each part of a family, but each of them functions differently in the body. Nevertheless I don't think even our original old friend, Vitamin K which is given to newborns, let alone new friend Vitamin K2, is a problem with Eliquis. Eliquis keeps on doing what it's supposed to.
I found this. I understand that Eliquis is brand name of apixaban:
Yes, certainly see a specialist.. get a thorough work up with labs to rule out other causes for bone loss.
Hi, I didn't want to either but I was persuaded by my doctor who said she sees far too many unneccessary fractures. So, I had my second Prolia injection last week, with no side effects. It's good to feel protected and safe. I have a friend, currently in hospital, with a broken vertabrae. She is likely to be there for several weeks and is in a lot of pain. At the end of the day, do we take advantage of modern medicine or suffer needlessly?
Unlike warfarin, taking Eliquis does not preclude vitamin K. Check with your doctor
