MTHFR gene mutation

Good Morning Everyone

Being my own advocate I recently looked into a possible gene mutation… well it’s positive

And closely related to osteoporosis..:

40% of people have it and go through life not knowing..

I would suggest being tested.. don’t know about insurance but I’m glad I have my answer

It’s the MTHFR C677Tl

Many other mutations but this one comes from mom and dad

Hope all is well with you all

There are treatments with folic acid etc

Sincerely

Yes. Good for you to ferret it out. I probably don't have it, based on the bits of other tests I've had, but I'm operating as if I do because it seems like it can't hurt to get B vitamins in forms our bodies are less likely to resist. (Not that I understand that much. I just know blood tests showed I was low in the Bs, and I know you need them.)

I too carry the MTHFR mutation.

So far it manifests in my health challenges as DVT (clotting issues) and I never considered it affecting the osteoporosis. Where did you discover that information?

If you look it up, depending on which mutation you have it does affect how your body processes nutrients….
