I have had no problem taking Prolia for the past year, but I see that my cholesterol has gone up, and am waiting to see if there is a connection.

I also have concerns about my teeth, which I am diligent about, but needed an extraction a few months ago. So far, no ONJ but I am ever vigilant. I am waiting to see my periodontist next week about another potential problem and will report back afterwards. My osteo options are limited after 2 compression fractures.

Are you looking for options? It's nice to hear from you.

i have a couple of questions to ask my Mum's endo, options looking slim.

as for dental surgery, Mum's dental surgeon said wait 2 weeks after extraction to have a dose of prolia

from a heap of reading, it looks like the latest advice is: have the surgery at the 5-month mark after a prolia dose, then a month later the next / scheduled dose is on time.

but fact check this.

I happened to need the extraction at the 5 month mark . I also needed bone filler. So I had the extraction at 5 months. Then waited 3 weeks after the next Prolia was due to get the shot. The 3 week wait was from talking to 2 different endos who said I should not wait longer than that. So far I have not had any ONJ symptoms, but am always vigilant since it seems it can occur at any time per one of my endos. Do you have any other info from the endo as to the reason for not waiting too long? I hope all goes well for your mum.

thanks, ONJ turned out not to be an issue for my Mum

dentists seem to know as much as endo's.

so anyway, you can not delay prolia doses,

some say 4 weeks is allowable but i've read of that not being safe,

at the 6 month mark after a prolia dose, there's no detectable level left in the system, as per the product info sheet

take care
