I go to one. It does seem safe. I’ve been going for about 5 months now and haven’t heard of anyone getting hurt. I sure hope it works.

Raleigh59 profile image
Raleigh59 in reply toAnnie99

how many times per week do you go?

Annie99 profile image
Annie99 in reply toRaleigh59

Just one. I joined a gym too for the weights. I love it. I’m willing to try anything before going on meds. I go to the gym at least 3 times a week, usually 4.

Raleigh59 profile image
Raleigh59 in reply toAnnie99

what do you do at the gym - weight machines or treadmill or elliptical or stairs or free weight classes . I am scared I will get hurt at osteo strong

Annie99 profile image
Annie99 in reply toRaleigh59

I do the treadmill and the weight machines at the gym. I read Kaligirl’s response and when I get my next dexa, I may feel the same way about Osteostrong. It seems too good to be true, and yes it’s expensive. I feel though, more afraid of getting hurt at the gym than I do do getting hurt at Osteostrong. Why are you afraid? Are your scores really bad?

Raleigh59 profile image
Raleigh59 in reply toAnnie99

my scores are bad but they might be invalid given possible “lab error” that I found not the dr bc my BMD numbers should not have equaled the t score I got

Raleigh59 profile image
Raleigh59 in reply toAnnie99

if you can do weight machines at gym you might not need osteo strong . I tried 15 lbs at machines it was too hard on my back and arms . If I did osteo strong I think I would go 3 x per week

Annie99 profile image
Annie99 in reply toRaleigh59

Ok! You’re only on those machines a couple of seconds each. They also have this bio charger that’s supposed to help certain ailments. I choose the bone building one and sit in front of it for 10 minutes. You’re right, I may not need osteostrong at all. I hope so. We’ll see. Good luck to you, I wish you well.

in reply toAnnie99

I also began with OsteoStrong July 2023! I’ve have had nice improvement per Dexa (However, I’ve taken 4 years of PROLIA in addition). The real challenge for me will be going forward as I will start RECLAST infusion Feb 2024 to transition off PROLIA 👍!)

Raleigh59 profile image
Raleigh59 in reply toAnnie99

if you do weight machines you must be very strong and not need osteo strong. I don’t like the price tag of osteo strong but there are many reviews that seem to say it helps. I Think some are friends of the owner who just wrote reviews for her. Each location is managed by different managers and one place said he would charge only $100 per month if I don’t use bio charger.

Annie99 profile image
Annie99 in reply toRaleigh59

Well, I do feel strong. I feel great! Osteostrong isn’t cheap, but I’m willing to try it before I decide on taking drugs. I know, it’s hard to trust all the reviews. I always felt if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

What us this ?? Facility ? Any classes ?? Free ??

Raleigh59 profile image
Raleigh59 in reply toSkinnyblue

osteo strong is a small fitness place using force of heavy weight but not lifting

Skinnyblue profile image
Skinnyblue in reply toRaleigh59

Thank you, I never heard of before. I googled and found one nearby ,-- In Atlanta, Georgia.

However, weight lifting, resistance training will help increase bone density.

There is one supplement, by Dr whitaker ,-- helps. He has done clinical trials. No I am not an agent and do NOT get commission.

I tried it and my dexiscan got worse. I now go to the gym and lift weights. I felt osteostrong is too expensive and really doesn’t work.

Raleigh59 profile image
Raleigh59 in reply toKaligirl

did you go one two or three times per week? I think for it to work it should be three times per week

Kaligirl profile image
Kaligirl in reply toRaleigh59

the program I went to was once per week. They told me any more than that would have a reverse effect. When I dug a little deeper and asked to speak with the customers who had positive results they always had an excuse that they couldn’t get a hold of them. After awhile it became apparent to me they did not have any proof of positive results. I really had high hopes it would work and was very disappointed when it didn’t.

Now I use an app called Cronometer and track my food to see what vitamins and minerals I’m deficient in and supplement from there. Also jog, weights and hill walking.

Good luck to you and keep up the good work

Raleigh59 profile image
Raleigh59 in reply toKaligirl

they showed me a chart of positive results for their club with the peoples user names

Like 25 on list

But I believe you . Who knows what lies they chart anyway and what reviews are lies

Kaligirl profile image
Kaligirl in reply toRaleigh59

if you decide to join I would ask to speak directly with a couple of those people on the chart. Osteoporosis is a bummer 🥲

Raleigh59 profile image
Raleigh59 in reply toKaligirl

they would only let me talk to someone who might be making progress from some other way so the person might think it’s from this . They say some athletes are using this too

Kaligirl profile image
Kaligirl in reply toRaleigh59

interesting….

I would like to add something. I was diagnosed at 46 I’m know 63

For me I tried everything, HRT, bio phosphates, osteostrong and now have a prescription for Forteo but haven’t filled it yet.

it took years but I finally found out that I wasn’t getting enough protein and deficient in vitamin D and calcium. I pumped myself full of vitamins and still wasn’t able to get my levels up. I took a nutrition class and started paying attention to what I ate and logged everything in the app. I supplemented only what I couldn’t get thru my diet and finally my blood work came back with my levels at the higher end of normal. I’m due for my dexiscan so I’ll let you know what the results are, this will be 2 years of using diet and exercise only so we shall see.

Raleigh59 profile image
Raleigh59 in reply toKaligirl

thank you . I am 59.

How much protein and but do you get now. My Dr wrote me a note today saying that my .62 BMD in spine can equate to -4.7 t score. He says it can and that’s he’s checked with 3 people. Others say it cannot

Raleigh59 profile image
Raleigh59 in reply toKaligirl

drink this every day

Fairlife
Kaligirl profile image
Kaligirl in reply toRaleigh59

I’ll have to try that. I shoot for 25 grams each meal but sometimes more sometimes less

Which app do you use? I use Cronometer. Do you type in your target macros into your app? If so, what #s do you use? Same for calcium and vitamin D - do you have targets?

Kaligirl profile image
Kaligirl in reply toCarrot_Top

I use Cronometer as well, I love it. I used the built in targets first to get used to using it then looked at several different sites to see what the suggestions for osteoporosis and changed the targets. My focus is D, K, mag, cal and protein.

Raleigh59 profile image
Raleigh59 in reply toKaligirl

can I hear the targets you use ?

Kaligirl profile image
Kaligirl in reply toRaleigh59

Of course! I tried to post a picture but I’m not that savvy. I also have a D and K boost I take every few months. For me this seems to be working to keep my levels in normal range. I work closely with my doctor and nutritionalist. They both say best to get your vitamins and nutrients from food and then supplement when I can’t reach my goal.

Everyone’s needs and absorption is different.

protein 75

D 2000

C 1000

K 90

Calcium 1200

thank you did you go once a week to osteo strong .

I think I am going to start doing elliptical at the gym once a day. I also really am detailed about supplements plus I walk 30 minutes per day. And do some stairs in my house. And some zoom exercise free weight classes.

it’s bio charger and I never heard of it either before Osteostrong. You should Google it, it’s hard to explain. It’s a machine with a bunch of lights that produce energy. That’s really all I know. I’m willing to try at least until my next dexa.

I don't want to throw cold water on the idea but too much protein has been correlated, in some studies, with lower bone density. Although adequate protein is very important, there isn't much point taking higher than the normally recommended daily intake, about 20-25 mg per meal.

oh I never heard that , well some people are being told low protein is causing their low bone density

thank you - she seems for osteostrong if people also do the 5 steps to the better bones program which you then have to pay $350 or up to find out . Maybe you know the 5 steps ?
