Six months ago my GP told me I had osteoporosis and recommended I take fosamax. I said I want to talk to my dentist first. dentist not thrilled with this drug, especially people having to wait months for dental surgery so I decided no.
After they cleaned my teeth thinking, gosh, really disappointed. teeth still look kinda grey.
Then one day after months of eating "bone healthy" I looked in the mirror and thought, "when did that happen? My teeth look really good."
I know restoring bone is much harder than teeth, but I really think I'm on the right track and your education is why, so for regulars here keep it up. Your help on this is invaluable I've added K2 Mk7 to my supplements and more recently boron.
I would like a rems scan rather than dexa but that's not available here yet.

Thanks Mike, none near me either. My GP got kinda annoyed when I asked her about it and talked about Europe not doing a lot of things right with medicine. . I'm looking for a new doctor
Hi I am from Washington state, am an active 67 year old female slightly overweight with small-medium bone frame. I had a DEXA scan that indicated my spine was osteoporotic. Since my daughter and son-in-law live in Dallas Texas I scheduled an echo light REM scan in College Station, Texas so I could evaluate the QUALITY & not just the density quantity of bone. The office was great to work with and it was a quick scan that took less than an hour costing $120 out of pocket. (Even though it is FDA approved, the Association has not totally “accepted” it.) The nurse who did the scan went over the findings during and at the end of the scan. The scan revealed that I was more in an osteopenia stage rather than osteoporosis.Since I am a retired dental hygienist and I’ve always been concerned when my patients were told to go on a Bisphosphonate, like Fosamax, so I was very reticent to start a regime with any of the drugs in that classification. So at this point I will continue to take my Calcium, D, K, adult multi vitamins, continue exercise with weights, walking & aerobic and re evaluate every 2 years.
Bubba3xt, look into adding annatto tocotrienol for bone building benefits and others as well. Include magnesium too for bone health and to activate vitamin D. Always consult your health care provider before using any supplement.
