Is there anyone on Pantoprazloe as a safe long term solution for hiatus hernia and acid reflux rather than lansoprazole that is not recommended long term?

Hello, I have been on Omeprazole PPI for ten years for hiatus hernia and acid reflux. I have tried Famotidine but it does not seem to work as well as the old Zantac (Ranitidine) that was withdrawn in 2019. I have tried all sorts of remedies but unfortunately have to keep returning to Omeprazole. I started on 20mg dose 10 years ago but with diet and lifestyle changes (and being propped up to sleep) I have managed to wean down to 10mg daily and Gaviscon Advance at night. I take mine 45 mins before lunch, which is when I have my main meal. It's awful having this long term problem, it never goes away and is so frustrating. Perhaps you can look at reducing your dosage by talking to your GP.
p.s. Have you requested a DEXA scan to check your bone density as long term PPI's can affect this. I get pain in my knee joints since I have been on them. I had a DEXA in 2022 and it was OK luckily. Regards.
I've been taking Pantoprazloe for a month now as Omeprazole made me worse (extra stomach gas/constipation etc.) and Esomeprazole gave me a rash. Thus far it seems to be working better than the previous meds. I have very little acid reflux and no additional symptoms. I was told if this one doesn't work to try an H2 blocker instead, Famotidine was suggested.
hi after having a cough since June last year my GP put me on a high dose of pantoprazole which has solved the problem- I am aware of the dangers of long term use and have been advised to try a lower dose but trying all the prazoles and Famotide this has worked.
I have been on Pantoprazole for a number of years. I think I was prescribed lanzoprazole initially, but I found it upset my stomach, and was changed to pantoprazole. I have been taking it since because of a large hiatus hernia.,Mostly I take one a day, but I get silent reflux and if it gets bad I take 2, but GP prefers me to take one. I take a swig of gaviscon double action at bed time but mostly it keeps it under control. I am in my late 70s.
