Ears and reflux

Does anyone get ear discomfort,I occasionally get it especially if I have eaten something I shouldn't, the doctor said reflux wouldn't cause that and it could be a separate issue, but the discomfort seems to come after I have eaten something that I shouldn't .

Hi Pinkcatfairy. Yes l have ear discomfort sometimes with reflux. Ears nose and throat are all connected so it makes sense. Once when l went to hospital to see the consultant he checked my throat as my reflux was worse than usual for a while and he did ask me if it affected my ears. You are not alone!

I think it is silent reflux when you are more likely to get ear and throat discomfort, as the acid is coming straight up into your throat, and can get into ears, and sinuses.I was told that Gaviscon is more helpful for throat issues.
