Covid - Reflux

Just out of interest has anyone's reflux problems come on after having Covid? I had it back in early December and got problems in middle of January. I have read somewhere that there could be a link .

My reflex was worse after bouts of Covid (had it 3 times to my knowledge). It also got worse the last time I had the vaccine and took a while to settle down.

Yes, I haven't really had problems for a long time with my hernia, ok the occasional heartburn but not this silent reflux which is a lot harder to treat and get rid of quickly . During Covid I sounded quite bunged up although nasal passages were clear ,have been reading there could be a connection to Covid .

It didn't come on but definitely flared, and badly. I think I may have histamine intolerance or gastroparesis. Or just general stomach inflammation.

my gastro consultant said they have seen a dramatic increase in reflux symptoms since both covid and the vaccine and now have so many more people to see, many presenting with symptoms they cannot get on top of. No hard evidence it’s just what they have seen in clinic

Yes interesting to hear, it was only a matter of weeks that my reflux flared up after having Covid, at first after Covid I was very phelgmy which was unusual for me and then the reflux started

I've already posted on this site about this issue. I've had awful gastro problems since Covid in January 2022 plus myocarditis. I've had to curb what I eat and can now tolerate a bit more but certain foods like tomatoes and chilli are a no no. It's also caused a histamine intolerance. I know this has happened to many people after Covid and/or the vaccine...

Sorry to hear that ,yes I am trying to find my triggers ,Coffee and chocolate definitely triggers my reflux

I had covid in March 2020. I had reflux before I had a cough. It was my first symptom. Never had reflux in my life before this.Four and half years later remains an issue. Covid seems to have affected my digestive tract quite a bit.
