Hi, I've been suffering with acid reflux for several months now, quite severe. Now on my 4th ppi currently Lansoprazole since 2 weeks ago. How long before it takes affect. I'm eating and dtinking correctly so as not to agitate it, but finding it unbearable at times.

In my opinion if it was going to work it would by now. PPI's didn't for me . Months of a severely restricted alkaline diet did. Surgery is an option for some. I was offered fundlopication or Linx surgery.

Hi, you could ask your GP to try Famotidine, it works in a different way to PPI's and may be more suitable for you if PPI's don't work. Also Gaviscon after meals and before bed. Hope you feel better soon.
