Not sure its normal but I have it too. When really bad I feel it across my chest, down my arms into my hands and through to my back. I think the oesophagus becomes inflammed with the acid reflux and irritates the nerves in the oesophagus hence the pain signals. Its awful, I used to think it was from my heart condition but my cardiologist after many tests referred me to a gastroenterologist. Its clearly from my reflux issues but finding a solution is not easy.
I cant and wont take PPIs as they set my cardiac arrhythmia off, nor can I have reflux surgery apparently. I rely on gaviscon advance. I get these episodes regularly and hate them.
PPI’s always reduce magnesium which is why people often get palpitations when using them.. if you do take PPI’s then think about adding magnesium in your daily routine… 350 mg for women.. 450 mg for men… magnesium taurate or threonate is often a good choice for arrhythmias.
I dont take PPIs, they are like taking posion where my arrhythmias are concerned. Thanks re the magnesium suggestion I will look into it. Hope you are well.
I did have that randomly for a few days during having reflux then it went away but I was taking PPI for it so could have been the drug starting to work. Hope it settles soon.
