I’ve been on omeperazole now for 28 days still getting burning in top of my back & centre of abdomen centre of breastbone after eating sometimes
I frequently do small burps aswell I’m really worried it could be something more sinister like pancreatic cancer after googling symptoms although that’s only 2 symptoms I have …. Which I know are also related to acid
Anyone else had these symptoms and had a diagnosis 🙏. Can’t see my dr until Jan 3rd and I’m going mad now worrying

There are so many reasons for the gastric symptoms you are experiencing and by no means are they indicative of something dreadful going on. Its easy to say and I have been where you are so many times. Obviously the symptoms are made far worse by the anxiety so it becomes a viscious cycle. It is so easy to go down the rabbit hole of dark thoughts I get that fully.
The odds are its a problem with a more simple cause but right now you can see that understandably. Proton Pump Inhibitors like Omeprazole dont suit or work for everyone, they dont for me so please ask your GP to look at other medications or options. In the meantime try some calm breathing exercises and hope you can enjoy Christmas somewhat. Best wishes all will be well.
Thankyou for your reply ….I’m trying to remain positive & enjoy Christmas 🎅 just so frustrating when I take my ppi & still getting warm feeling after eating in top of tummy & across back
But hopefully it is a gastric issue did you say you have been the same
Yes my problems are ongoing, I rarely get a day free. I celebrate the good days and battle through the bad ones. My gastric issues also trigger my longstanding cardiac arrhythmias so I very often get a double whammy. Fun not. 🫤
I felt bit better after about a week but still had some gaviscon at night … but now 28 days on feel as if omeprazole not working wondering if need x 2 daily 🤷♀️
Yes I have to have a very limited dietand am always extremely careful or I suffer too much. Gaviscon advance is my help. Perhaps you need your omeprazole dose increasing. Its a way of life now for me but has to be done. Best wishes.
