Hello,

I am waiting to have a camera down the throat but in the meantime I am so worried.

Last year I noticed that I could feel a slight twinge in between my shoulder blade and around this time I started getting really bad acid reflux … if I drank alcohol It would burn and I would gag but nothing would come up.

I sometimes have a asthma cough. I feel very fully very quickly. I sometimes have the pain in my stomach but mostly in my back just below shoulder blades. I just been put on omezrapol … my mum has a hiatus hernia and also the fact I am overweight is not helping me either … do you think I am showing signs of this. I have waited so long for an appointment and I’m driving myself mad 😢

Sorry you're feeling so bad. I'm not a lot of help I'm afraid. A lot of people find taking gaviscon advance helps control reflux and I take that at night. I can't drink wine any more but I'm ok with a G and T and weirdly prosecco is ok too. Hopefully someone with more knowledge about hiatus hernia will turn up but no one will know for sure until you get the camera check.

how did the endoscopy go ? Did omeprazole work for you ?

endoscopy was fine they found nothing and weirdly enough I no longer need omeprazole … I think I was going through a severe anxiety episode

I’ve had omeprazole 28 days helped with the burning in chest & back but I was still getting heartburn most days … trying to now do 14 days without ppi to have H pylori test but last night was awful with burning in chest & top of back 😫 going back to dr Tuesday …or before if I can’t bare it might try a different ppi or refer me
