Garlic in water?

I have heard that Garlic should be avoided if you have reflux/Heartburn. However I saw a video on YT from someone who also suffers from reflux. He said he found crushed Garlic in a glass of water stopped the reflux. He had lots of comments from people who all said they had tried it and it worked. Has anyone tried it and did it work for you?
