My sons a few days from being 5 and for the last year he’s been waking up every 2-3 hours screaming and crying from his sleep, he won’t sleep unless I’m with him and he won’t sleep in his own room either.

Hello MichelleHayden17

Sorry to hear your child is having difficulties at night. I will include the link regarding sleep on our website, this will be general sleep advice and tips but it sounds like it may be more helpful if you are able to contact us so we can discuss the specific issues with your child and any relevant history.

You could send a message on parentline: 07520 631590 or call us on 0300 300 0123. Discussions regarding sleep can be quite complicated as there is often quite a lot of unpicking to do, especially for a slightly older child.

I hope one of the ways mentioned about will be helpful for you and your child to get some more rest.

Best wishes,

Rachel Downes - Assistant Practitioner.
