Hey everyone,
I thought a post like this might be a good conversation starter..
If you did breastfeed your baby, how did you feel about feeding in public? Any top tips!
or any places you'd recommend for breastfeeding in public?
Thanks!

I breastfeed my son with the “1 up 1 down” method. Nursing vest always under a normal top. Can hardly if anything see any boob! x
Seeing other mums feed in public places is making me feel more confident about trying it. I have a few friends who breastfed and am following breastfeeding mum meets on Facebook for hints and tips.
Does anyone recommend any particular breastfeeding cover ups or any tips on feeding out and about? Also when and where to buy nursing bras?
Hi there! I’m a breastfeeding mum and proudly breastfeed in public. I used to feel fairly self conscious and used a special breastfeeding apron when out and about but 8months on I’m less shy and just get my boob out pretty much anywhere.
If you’re in the city I really recommend the children’s section of the forum for breastfeeding and the changing facilities are great in there too.
If you need any breastfeeding support I recommend joining the Facebook group Breastfeeding Mum Meets which is a closed group for breastfeeding mums to troubleshoot in Norfolk and they have regular events and meet ups across Norfolk.
All the best!
Hey,
I always found breastfeeding with other breastfeeding mums made me feel more confident to begin with when out in public and then I’d go to places where I knew would be quieter...the library was a great free place, the seafront (i’m Gorleston/Great Yarmouth way). I was so hung up on needing loads of special nursing clothes but actually a normal stretchy vest under any top worked fine! Then in the summer, I’d take a Muslin cloth with me everywhere and throw it over my shoulder if I was in a vest top! Hope that helps 😃
I also recommend Breastfeeding Mum Meets. Has really helped me get out of the house. I also use the one up one down method which means there is really nothing to see. I remember being nervous with my first baby - even feeding in toilets. My partners family weren’t very supportive. But a few months in I just started doing it and not caring. Second baby round and I now have much more confidence. I think most people don’t really care if you are feeding. But it certainly helps to be around friends and other breastfeeding mummies.
I second the H&M bras - nice and soft!
