Hi all

I am a new member. Little history about me. I have been suffering with GERD may years ago.. I have been on different dugs to suppress the acidity. Over Christmas I had two or three episodes of reflux during the night. My fault I had food I should have to had and late at night too. A week ago I woke up and had burning sensation I my chest. Sunday I went for lunch and I got really scared as it was very painful when food was passing through my oesophagus mainly behind the breast bone. Two days later I went to GP who advised to double my Esomeprazole 20mg morning and 20mg at night plus gaviscon. He added if it does not get better by not week I will send you for a gastroscopy. I had a gastroscopy in February 2020 which showed mild corrosive gastritis I my stomach but nothing in the oesophagus. The pain has decreased and it seems it s painful when I first have the first bit of food. After that it seems less painful. the pain is also on my left side of the chest. I dunno what to think. Could it be that I have esophagitis because of few episodes of acid reflux lately? If so a week may not be tough to heal? Ca something more serious be there considering I was checked two years ago? Any advice please? I bought some aloe vera to sooth. It seems cold water feels soothing when I drink it after food. I dot feel food getting stuck there but when I swallow it feels also in my back left shoulder. I do get burping but that's not new. o food coming up. Sorry to ask so may questions. Reading some stories I got a bit anxious unfortunately. All my my full blood count is normal as well as liver and kidnney function Thanks for reading

Yup , that's sounds a lot like my symptoms, try to take a gaviston or peptac type liquid, to not only sooth but to protect the oesophagus, from being irritated. A metoclopramide tablet on prescription, will also help heal. The doctor has done the right thing, and nothing sinister found.

Be very careful with metaclopromide. It gave me the shakes within 20 minutes of taking it and internal tremors for several months after. Try mastic gum. Best thing I ever tried and I’ve tried most things.
