COUGHING BLOOD, CANCER?

My husband only in the morning had blood we saw the dr & he was immediately referred to the respriratory department, had chest x-ray, chest CT, blood tests, + a camera down his throat, but they couldn't do it as there was a mass by his vocal cords & has now been referred to ENT, who did the camera & he is now booked in for a biopsy on Tuesday. His teeth are no good which does not help, so it is hard to find things that he can eat (soft foods) - cancer was mentioned (having had cancer myself 5 times, I am very concerned but know this can be overcome) - what I would like to know from the community is the likely outcome, radiotherapy has already been mentioned. We live in the UK very near the Royal Marsden who have the new radiotherapy, but at the present time we are 'shielding' in Malta & I m concerned if they have the facilities to deal with this, I do know that they refer to to the Marsden. If you have experienced this please tell me what happened.
