I haven't posted on here for some time now , mainly because I would get soo upset about my / our life since my husband's Ivor Lewis surgery August 2017 ( gosh where did that time go !) That I just couldn't keep looking on here or posting every single time he had to have a "stretch" ( 7 in the end ) or when something else had gone wrong !
I am soo pleased and amazed for those of you that suffer this awful horrendous bloody Oesophageal cancer and get past the 5 year milestone....
My husband Tony bless him was the strongest positive happiest chilled out guy I knew .. even the Cancer didnt change that. Not the pre and post Chemo ..the 7 stretches ...being told after 17 months post op that it had spread to his liver and he was terminal ( January 2019) then more Chemo...which nearly killed him then immunotherapy! None of it could destroy my awesome mans man's spirit.
Heartbreakingly...and so very little time to say goodbye ....I lost him...exactly a week ago ...far far too young ...hadnt even retired ...we should have had at least another 20 years together.
I'm soo sad and miss him soo much ...Cancer took over our lives virtually for 3 years ...the only good thing to this is that along with my husband Tony dying ...so has the Cancer!!
If anyone has any concerns about swallowing ..DONT ...leave it ....get it checked out ASAP
Nothing is more important than your health
Xx

I’m so very sorry . This is the most horrid of cancers...what a brave fighter your man must have been to endure all the treatments & how cruel that he has been taken too soon. You must have been through hell with him too.
The only comfort is he is out of pain & would want the best for you .
Amidst all the worry if the virus, I hope you could say your goodbyes , but now stay safe . I hope you have a supportive family around you ..... even at a distance for now.
Oh Debbie, your Tony was truly a hero. You too have had to be so brave for him. And how awful that this should have happened in the middle of this pandemic. I truly feel for you. And your last remark about getting that symptom checked immediately is absolutely right - we should all spread the word. Sending you all I can in the way of best wishes and hopes for your future.
I am so very sorry for your loss. I lost my beloved mum who I had barely been apart from in December due to oesophageal cancer. It is a brutal disease and seeing how much she had to suffer was utterly heartbreaking. I hope you have a good support network around you but I am only a message away on here if you need to talk or need someone to listen.
