hi i am 12 months post op had ivor lewis op my haemoglobin is low and they have put me on iron tablets does that mean my cancer is returning ,any advice please ,

Hi I wouldn’t have thought so. Have you been on vitamins since op. I take multivitamins with probiotics and have levels checked every 3 months. Your body has been through a big op. They will keep a check on things and if necessary do a endoscopy.

I think this is a fairly common thing for those like us who have had this op. I believe taking PPIs can also affect how iron is absorbed into the body. I have been taking iron since my op 9 years ago and have my blood checked annually. You might ask to have yours checked again after a couple of months.
