Hi after reading a post on B12 and Magnesium deficiency I was wondering if these were checked when I go for my 6 monthly ct scan results?
I have mentioned my fatigue, pain etc but my Oncologist has never mentioned the B12 or Magnesium

Yes unfortunately it's true one of the side effects of this op is loss of important vitamins either manufactured by yours body or absorbed . I take multi vits with minerals ,B12 and bit D, obviously it's through doctors advice.
Regards.
It probably depends on individual hospitals. Check ups ted to be about how surgery has settled down and scanning for potential metastatic spread of cancer rather than other issues, so it is worthwhile to ask specifically.
My surgeon is a staunch advocate of a 12 weekly B12 injection. He claims that the measuring technique is not accurate and any excess in the system will be naturally dissipated. A shortage is not good. With regard to magnesium some time in the past I seem to recall learning that PPIs, such as Omeprazole, can deplete the body of magnesium. Hope this helps.
