Hey Lindsey!
Please don't worry. I know exactly how you feel
I've been through some dark times for the last 1.5 years.
You are going to be alright, you are not going crazy. The fear of going crazy is very common among anxiety and OCD sufferers, I recommend you to check online about it
The intrusive thoughts are hard to bear but those are just thoughts, nothing more.
It indicates that you've been severely overstressed, your brain works in a high alert mode.
You will get better. I recommend you if you can, the try and talk to those people that are close to you, that can support you. Try to distract yourself (I know how hard it may seem), but gentle sport exercises, walking out if possible is paramount.
Make sure you get enough healthy sleep too and don't read too much stuff online, for OCD sufferers it's not very healthy, you can get overwhelmed and wired up easily.
Also, what helped me when it was the worst, I was bombarded by these thoughts every several minutes. I saw advice of a guy on Quora and it really helped.
An intrusive thought would hit you and you just say to it:"Next" like you don't care.
Basically we need to have no emotions about these thoughts or as little as possible. And it will get better.
Hope it helps.
Its really hard for me to have no emotion about them, i get really worked up, so much i cant really eat
Yes I totally understand. These thoughts work so as if they are designed to make you super emotional, worked up and agitated. Just remember these are just thoughts, they are nothing. When your level of anxiety is really high, your brain searches for the cause of that fear. And it gets out either your deep rooted fears, or negativity. Mostly it's based around fear. It will get better though, you have the strength inside you! 🌺🧡
So they generate from fear in general? Also thank you sm!
From my experience yes. Fear and anxiety are very much related, anxiety is the prolonged state of being in a high alert, agitated mode.
You mentioned that you can't eat because of being anxious and too wired up. Please try to eat though and eat healthy, it is really important to support your body now, as it is already stressed as it is. Anxiety may also be increased if you have some nutrient deficiencies, it might be wise to add some supplements, but it's better to consult with your doctor when you can.
Basically you need a multi factor approach to deal with this properly. But remember you are not alone!
Stay safe and much love!
