I’ve noticed that when I’m thinking or reading or listening to something words repeat over and over in my head. Sometimes it will be a phrase. It’s almost like my mind get stuck on the word and it jus loops around about 5 times until I can finish what I was doing. I don’t know if it has anything to do with OCD or something else. But I want to find a way to make it stop cs it’s holding me back in school sometimes Nd it’s so frustrating. Any helpful tips or information?

It's one of the things that OCD does. It's as though you have a loop or short circuit in your brain, and the same thought goes round and round.

It could be worth getting an appointment with your doctor or with someone at your school, such as nurse, counsellor, sympathetic teacher. If it is OCD, there are lots of things you can do to combat it. Don't let anyone fob you off. If it's causing you upset, it's worth doing something about.

It can be difficult to stop this looping, but try not to fight it too much. That makes it worse. Just acknowledge it and try to get on with what you're doing. It takes a bit of practice, but it can be done.
