I went and saw a doctor for the first time last week

I’m having my first psychologist appointment soon and I’m excited but also very nervous ☺️

I’ve noticed over the past month my checking and anxiety has become significantly worse

That's good that you have worked up the courage to go to the doctor. It's all right to be nervous.

Feeling nervous about the psychologist could be why you have been checking etc more. I had a four month hospital stay for OCD having intensive treatment, and I didn't want to go. I found my OCD getting worse while waiting to go in. So much so that I got out of the taxi and couldn't get up the path to the building where the OCD unit was and the manager had to come out and rescue me! But it turned out all right.

Also remember that OCD comes and goes. It can get worse for a bit, and then it can get better and you almost function normally.

Anyway, I'm pleased for you that you are getting professional help.

Hey Abbey! Troy gets nervous still when he goes to his ERP appointments. So don't worry too much. 😊
