Update on my mirtazapine experience. I am coming to 2nd week and my ocd intrusive thoughts beginning to ease. I am on ly on 15mg and donthe know know whether to stick at that or increase. I am getting very blurred vision and only havery sight in one eye due to injury. Not sure if increase would make it worse.Seeing GP this week but she pretty much tells me to do whatever. Hmm..

That's not helpful of your GP! But GPs aren't experts usually, they know a little about a lot of things, rather than a lot about one thing.
It might be worth talking to your psychiatrist if you have one, or ask to be referred to one if you haven't. They know more about medication of this sort than a GP is likely to.
It's often necessary to put up with side effects if the benefits of a drug are greater. But if it is causing you other serious health problems or stopping you from functioning it might be worth considering a switch.
Thanks Sallyskins, I have not been to psychiatrist this time around but have many times in past. Don’t want to keep switching meds really as this has gone on since last September and 3rd meds. Definitely feeling a bit better but don’t know if increase would benefit more. Damn clomipramine being discontinued because it worked wonders!! Hope you’re not too bad and thanks for reply.x
I'm going to try to raise the problem of discontinuing manufacture of clomipramine with some relevant authorities. Perhaps if enough of us speak out they might reconsider it.
